Village des Eyzies-de-Tayac Sireuil

The world capital of prehistory is a little village of the Black Perigord, into the heart of the Vezere valley, close to the Lascaux Cave and to Sarlat la Canéda.

The Prehistory built his science here thanks to illustrate names like Peyrony, Lartet, Capitan, Abbot Breuil and Abbot Glory. The Cro-Magnon man was discovered here, some of the best wall art was discovered here too, and especially the last polychrome painting cave open to the public : Font de Gaume.

This is into Les Eyzies center that the National Museum of Prehistory was built, absolute reference for the upper Paleolithic and whose collections come largely of sites and deposits of the Vézère Valley. You will discover also the Pôle International de la Prehistoire and the Cro-Magnon shelter in the village.
