Acquired by the Département in 2007, the Domaine Départemental has since undergone a number of improvements.
Domaine de Campagne, with its Romantic park awarded the Jardin Remarquable labelwith its 19th-century château and adjoining outbuildings. 337 hectares of forestideal for walking.
The grounds of the Château are open to visitors free of charge, every day (closed from December to February, except during school holidays), guided tours and discovery workshops are also offered from time to time.
The Domaine Départemental de Campagne
Since 2015, the site has been classified ecological reserve covering an area of 172 ha, including 34 ha in a controlled biological reserve, 138 ha in an integral biological reserve and 165 ha in a buffer zone. The Campagne forest is home to rare species as the Genet, the Short-toed Eagle, the Peregrine Falcon and the Tichodrome échelette.
