Take the time to discover the village of Farges

Located north of Montignac-Lascaux , bordered to the south by the Vézère, the village of Farges invites you to discover vast rural horizons. The municipality is expanding on Jurassic and Cretaceous limestone plateaus whose altitude varies from 200 to 260 m. It is a bastion which dominates by a hundred meters the Vézère valley to the east and that of Cern to the north. The town offers numerous viewpoints and belvederes.

To the south of the town, on the vast Cheylard hill army of sandy limestones, the remains of the old church of the 18th century. A small public rural road leads to the ruins: Romanesque nave, bell tower-wall, 11th century heart (vaulted with a cradle) and right next to it, you can still see some tombs from the old medieval cemetery.

Hike from the village of Farges

In a gentle or sustained version, hiking is in the spotlight in Vézère Valley. In Farges, we travel up and down paths for young and old walkers:

  • Northern balconies loop
  • South Balconies Loop
  • Grand Peuch Loop

This last loop is ideal to do in family, on an easy to follow path. Beautiful holiday memories in perspective.
