Take the time to discover the village of Mauzens-et-Miremont !

The perched village of Miremont owes its name to an Occitan origin: “mira”, for “look” and “mount”, used for a high place. It majestically dominates the valley. Her feudal dungeon, from the 13th century, overlooks collapsed ramparts. The manors and bourgeois houses bear witness to the presence of the Forge Masters which, in the past, provided a metallurgical industry on the banks of the “Le Manaurie” stream. Further back from the valley, the village of Mauzens guards the warm colors of the stone of the same name. Even today, the exploitation of building stone quarries contributes to the vitality and reputation of the town.
