When traveling through the Vézère valley, the passage along the coast from Jor to Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère is almost unavoidable as the view is breathtaking and a certain sweetness of life emanates from this place chosen by a Tibetan community...

A Buddhist temple in heart of the Vézère valley

Dhagpo morning winter (5)

It is in the heart of Périgord, that one of the largest Buddhist centers in France was established on the Côte de Jor. In 1975, Bernard Benson donated his land to build this center. His Holiness on the 16thrd Karmapa agreed and appointed him: Dhagpo Kagyu Ling

Became a mecca of Tibetan Buddhism in France, the study and meditation center has expanded: an institute was born, housing several spaces dedicated to listening, study and meditation. Its aim is to promote research by associating Buddhist knowledge et scientific knowledge. It will become a place for the exchange and development of ideas.

Periodically, hundreds of practitioners come from all over Europe until Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère to follow lessons ou retirements.

Newbie or initiated, in search of spirituality, better knowledge of yourself or quite simply of well-being, let yourself be guided in a beautiful initiatory journey at the heart of this tradition coming from Asia and which continues to seduce the West.

Each year, the doors open take place on Easter Monday.
