Conférence UTL : « OBSERVATION SPATIALE DU CYCLE DE L’EAU SUR TERRE : LE SATELLITE SWOT »
Wednesday, December 04 at 15:00 p.m.
Salle Pierre DENOIX Ancien Evêché 24200 SARLAT-LA-CANEDA
Presented by Nelly MOGNARD-CAMPBELL, engineer in spatial hydrology, emeritus researcher at CNES.
For more than fifty years, satellites have been observing the earth from space. First it was the satellites which took images of the earth in the visible domain. Then other wavelengths were used, in particular those of radars which make it possible to observe the earth both day and night, whatever the cloudy conditions.
Dr Nelly MOGNARD-CAMPBELL, who was scientific manager of the SWOT project on the French side, spent more than twenty years in the United States. She worked and collaborated with various American and European scientific teams in the field of space observation of the terrestrial water cycle.
