CAVERNE was born from the great emotion aroused by the visits to Lascaux and Chauvet and the feeling of proximity felt despite the tens of thousands of years that separate us. The decorated cave appeared to us like a mysterious theater, rich in vanished beings and worlds, in distant dreams. What motivated men and women who look like us to go underground to paint animals on the walls? What was the content of these stories? What is the meaning of these parietal images? Why mainly animals? These are unanswered questions.

Here we delve into the myths, the prejudices, the beliefs that we have constructed about the origin of human societies.
