The Domaine Départemental de Campagne

The Domaine Départemental de Campagne

Acquired by the Department in 2007, the Domaine Départemental has since undergone numerous improvements.

The Domaine de Campagne, with its romantic park labelled as a remarkable garden, its castle, which was extensively restored in the 19th century, and its outbuildings, opens onto 337 hectares of forest, ideal for walking.

The park is open to visitors free of charge every day (closed from December to February, except during school holidays). Guided tours and discovery workshops are also offered from time to time.

Since 2015, the site has been classified as a biological reserve covering an area of 172 ha, of which 34 ha is a managed biological reserve, 138 ha is an integral biological reserve and 165 ha is a buffer zone. The Campagne forest is home to rare species such as the Genet, the White-tailed Vulture, the Peregrine Falcon and the Wall creeper.

Hiking in the Campagne forest

In addition to its exceptional biological wealth, the Departmental forest of Campagne also contains great archaeological treasures.
What better way to discover them than by hiking! Two circuits, ideal for families, are available:

La boucle de la Forêt Nord  - 5,5 km
Sentier d’interprétation n°1 - 3 km
