WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LASCAUX IV AND LASCAUX II? 

Lascaux II, opened to visitors in 1983, was the first facsimile of the original cave to be reconstructed at 90%, and the site is still open to visitors. 
Lascaux IV - International Centre of Cave Art allows you to discover the Lascaux cave in its entirety and, thanks to new technologies, gain a better understanding of cave art.  

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PREHISTORY INTERPRETATION CENTRE AND THE NATIONAL PREHISTORY MUSEUM IN LES EYZIES?

The  Prehistory interpretation centre  highlights the heritage of the Vézère Valley and presents the various important sites and places in our region.
It's an excellent starting point for your holiday before visiting other sites (caves, museums, etc.). Thanks to original resources such as 3D visuals, a digital area and an educational room, you'll be able to discover prehistory in a fun way. You'll discover prehistory in a fun way. 

The National Museum of Prehistory exhibits collections of ancient objects from prehistoric sites: artefacts, bones, tools, etc. You can visit the museum on your own or with a guide. It's the ideal place to learn about prehistoric times. 

HOW TO VISIT THE FONT DE GAUME AND LES COMBARELLES CAVES?

Bookings for the Font de Gaume and Combarelles caves can only be made online at www.sites-les-eyzies.fr 

Visitor numbers are limited to 13 people per visit for Font de Gaume and 7 people per visit for Combarelles.

WHERE TO GO FOR NATURE WALKS IN THE VÉZÈRE VALLEY?

HOW WILL YOU GET HERE?

La meilleure solution pour parcourir la vallée de la Vézère est sa voiture personnelle.
Trains stops at Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, Condat sur Vézère, Le Lardin St Lazare and Sarlat. After that, you'll need to hire a car or take a taxi.

By bus there are regular year-round services between Périgueux, Montignac-Lascaux and Sarlat
as well as Montignac-Lascaux, Terrasson and Brive la Gaillarde

In summer, there is a summer service between Montignac-Lascaux and Le Bugue, which stops at several points in the Vézère Valley. There is also a line between Sarlat and Les Eyzies. 

WHERE CAN I SLEEP WITH MY MOTORHOME IN THE VÉZÈRE VALLEY?

Most campsites have pitches for motorhomes. But you can also park on service areas specially equipped in a number of villages: Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, Saint Léon sur Vézère and Montignac. 

WHERE TO SWIM IN THE VÉZÈRE VALLEY?

In summer, municipal swimming pools of Montignac-Lascaux, Le Bugue and Audrix are open.
Ponds are also open to bathing in season, including Etang du Coucou, Etang du Bos and Etang de Tamniès.
An aqualud area is also present at Jacquou Parc. 

WHAT SPORTS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE VÉZÈRE VALLEY?

From numerous sports s’offrent à vous : équitation, escalade, golf, le VTT, la course d’orientation, le vélo sur route, tir à l’arc, parapente se pratiquent toute l’année. Et en saison, le canoë, le paddle, l’accrobranche, la spéléologie, …
