Description

Plazac, remains the land of the croquants (peasants from the south-west of France revolted in the 16th and 17th centuries). Planted in the Périgord Noir, near the Barade forest, it was also one of the places of resistance. During your walk, you will discover numerous paths, the famous shortcuts, which once linked the farms to each other.

Getting to the starting pointto report a problem

Step 1

Departure: From the call sign located in the municipal car park, arrive on the Fleurac tarmac road. Turn left, pass between a sawmill and the old Cordestieux mill, restored as a residence. Cross the bridge which spans the Vimont to arrive at the junction with the Chemin des Chardonnies

Step 2

Turn left leaving the road onto a flat path which follows the valley. Continue to the bridge. Leave a Bailley bridge on the left to continue with a slight curve to the right and uphill. Arrive at La Goulette. Please note: this signposted intersection is the junction point between the departure towards "les Pléniers" and the return of the "Le Moulin à vent" hike.

Step 3

Turn right and, after a hundred meters, skirting a meadow, arrive at the foot of the steepest but fairly short drop. Climb up rocky curves in the undergrowth to Chemin des Tranchats

Step 4

Leave the Route des Bardonies on the right and continue the Chemin des Tranchats on the left. Shortly after, turn right, leaving access to Les Tranchats to follow Chemin des Pléniers. The climax is near. Continue to the Yellow marker on the right located at a four-way intersection indicating a shortcut through Sorbeau

Step 5

Continue straight ahead then again opposite until the crossroads with the Route du Moulin du Peuch. Take on the right. At the junction with the Route de Lissac go opposite. Keep right a little further and continue until the intersection towards the water tower

Step 6

Take Chemin du Plateau on the right, then turn right to join Route de Lissac. Keep left to reach a junction. Turn left, go down towards Tras le Four. Continue the path through the undergrowth

Step 7

Continue straight ahead, ignoring the access to Bernailloux on the right. Keep left at the next intersection and continue until Route de Fleurac
(terminus of the path). Take it on the right until the first grassy path on the left at the road leading to Roumegière

Step 8

Take it, then make a bend in the path which leads to a bridge which should not be taken except to go to the center of the town. A few meters before the bridge, go right to the old wash house and find the Route de Fleurac. Take a left to return to
car park
