History

Description

A hiking trail rich in heritage: local architecture, truffle groves and walnut groves.
This hike will allow you to discover the north of the territory of Coly Saint-Amand: causse landscapes located on the heights of the abbey, you will reach the hamlet of Lasserre, a magnificent example of Périgord architecture (slate roof and stone wall ocher); from forests to clearings you will take the valley of the Chironde, a tributary of the Coly; several truffle and walnut groves, emblematic crops of Périgord Noir, are located on this route.

Your itinerary

Getting to the starting pointto report a problem

Step 1

With your back to the Place du 14July parking lot, head towards the town center and the abbey. Take the Route de l’Abbaye for 50 m to the staircase on the right

Step 2

Borrow the latter. A few steps and a steep path in the boxwood allow you to rise above the village. Continue this path until reaching the place called Le Peuch, cross the place called Le Peuch and continue straight on until the cross and the Route de Chazelle

Step 3

Cross then continue opposite on the Route du Peuch. Continue until the first intersection in a right turn. Fork on the path to the right until you reach the Route de la Chironde, which you must cross with caution to continue opposite on the Route de Lasserre, continue and cross the stream to the next fork

Step 4

Cross the white path then take the path opposite. Continue the path until you reach the road at the hamlet Lasserre

Step 5

Turn left on the road then cross a road to take Chemin de la Bouygue. Cross the place called and continue while remaining on the
path on the right to join the Route de Cheyrat

Step 6

Turn left then, at the first junction, take the path on the right. At the first trail intersection, stay on the path furthest to the left then continue, staying on the path to the right until you reach the Route de Chassagne

Step 7

Take the latter on the left and follow it to the hamlet of the same name. Cross it and continue on this same road until the first path on the right

Step 8

Follow the latter until its terminus then turn left at the intersection of paths. Follow the path to the Chironde stream which must be crossed to reach the eponymous road

Step 9

Take the Route de la Chironde (D64) on the left and follow it carefully until you exit the first bend. Turn right and, once at the Tower, continue on the left until you reach a junction

Step 10

Take the path on the right towards the place called Mortefond. Join the Route de Mortefond and follow it on the right until the place called

Step 11

Continue on the left, Route de Mortefond, and continue straight on the latter until returning above the village. Continue to the end of the road

Step 12

Then follow Route du Gatinou on the left which leads back to the parking area.
