What is Félibrée?
It is the Occitan festival of Périgord for over 100 years!
Durant 3 days, the langue d'oc, literature, music, dance, ancient trades and gastronomy are in the spotlight.
Friday is generally dedicated to school children. Saturday and Sunday offer an extensive program including a parade through the streets in period costume.
Organized by the association Le Bournat (the hive in Occitan), it takes place every first full weekend of July.
Where does the Félibrée take place?
Every year, the Félibrée takes place in a different village of the Dordogne department.
The village receiving the Félibrée the following year is revealed at the end of the current festivities. With the election of the Queen of the Félibrée, it is one of the moments awaited by lovers of the event.
In 2023, the Félibrée took place in Montignac-Lascaux. On this occasion, the city was adorned with 1000 colors: garlands of flowers and Occitan crosses hung on the walls of houses.
In 2025, the Félibrée will take place in Sarlat in Périgord Noir.
How can I participate in the Félibrée?
Before the event, the Lo Bornat association always looking for volunteers to make flower garlands, install infrastructure, etc.
The association also offers conferences, langue d'oc workshops, etc. throughout the year.
