What is the Félibrée?

It is the occitan festival of Périgord for over 100 years!
During 3 daysThese include the langue d'oc, literature, music, dance, traditional crafts and gastronomy.
Fridays are usually reserved for school groups. Saturday and Sunday offer a full programme, including a parade through the streets in period costume.

Organised by the association Le Bournat (the beehive in Occitan), It takes place every first full weekend in July.

Where does the Félibrée take place?

Every yearthe Félibrée takes place in a different village in the Dordogne department.
The village hosting the Félibrée the following year is announced at the end of the current festivities. With the election of the Queen of the FélibréeIt's one of the most eagerly-awaited moments for fans of the event.

In 2023, the Félibrée took place in Montignac-Lascaux. To mark the occasion, the town was decked out in 1,000 colours, with garlands of flowers and Occitan crosses hanging from the walls of houses.

How can I take part in the Félibrée?

Prior to the event, the Lo Bornat association is still looking for volunteers to make flower garlands, set up facilities, etc.
Throughout the year, the association also organises conferences, language workshops, etc.
