A lover of the Vézère

Philippe Colomy grew up in the village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, where he practised his favourite sport, canoeing. Today, he can't count the hours he spends on the Vézère. He says he loves this valley for its biodiversity and its history. The valley is nicknamed the "Valley of Man", and is listed as a World Heritage site. UNESCO World Heritage Site and on the list of Grands Sites de France for its famous prehistoric sites. The Vézère is full of treasures that Philippe Colomy is constantly discovering.

As a witness to the evolution of this river, he appreciates the changes in the watercourse and its environment. biodiversity. Over the years, the river ranunculus or floating buttercups have appeared, small white flowers that appear in summer. Increasingly present in the landscape of the Vallée de l'Homme, they mark the good quality of the water.

In the hope of keeping the Vézère clean and welcoming, Philippe Colomy is taking part in the spring cleaning of the river. The operation is free and voluntary. The aim of the clean-up is to bring people together for a convivial moment, but also to raise awareness of the need to protect nature.
