Grotte du Grand Roc
"The Grand Roc cave is located along the left bank of the Vézère River when leaving Les Eyzies toward Périgueux.
The prehistoric shelter of Laugerie was inhabited by our ancestors at various epochs, and in particular 15,000 years ago by Cro-Magnon.
The Grand Roc cave, registered with UNESCO as a World Heritage site, is a true mineral forest, including crystallizations, calcite flows, stalactites, stalagmites, pillars, eccentric stalactites, draperies, and more. Light intensifies the colours of these features and reveals their variety, density and number within this exceptional cave. By reservation: educational workshops for school groups and family entertainment during school holidays: ""On the traces of animals"" and ""Cro-Magnon, architect"" Tickets twinned with Laugerie Basse.
