Village de Fanlac

Made famous by the serial and then by the film of the novel by Eugène le Roy “Jacquou le Croquant”, the village of Fanlac, typical of Périgord, extends over a hillside in the heart of the Barade forest of the Vézère valley all close to Montignac and the Lascaux cave.

As you walk through the village you can admire its beautiful houses with pointed gables covered in slate, its fortified Romanesque church, its very sculpted 17th century polybae Calvary cross, its old well with its edge worn by the ropes of the buckets.

Take advantage of your visit to visit Kristof Mascher, an exceptional craftsman working with fish leather!
