Located in the heart of the Vézère valley in Dordogne, between Le Bugue and the Lascaux cave in Montignac-Lascaux, the village of Les Eyzies well deserves its nickname of world capital of prehistory.

An ideal introduction to any visit to sites classified as World Heritage Sites, the National Museum of Prehistory invites you to discover the oldest traces left by Man, particularly well highlighted thanks to its contemporary architecture.

Along the monumental cliff, an integral part of this journey through time, the exhibition rooms are full of stone tools, bone or ivory art objects, life-size reconstructions of prehistoric men or of extinct animals allowing us to understand the evolution of societies over 400 years.
