Grotte du Grand Roc
North of Les Eyzies in the Périgord Noir region, travel back in time to discover the wonders of the Grotte du Grand Roc. Discovered in 1924 and opened to the public in 1927, this natural cave is nestled in a cliff overlooking the Vézère, with a terrace on the side of the rock offering a panoramic view of the village of Les Eyzies and the river valley.
Internationally renowned, this masterpiece of nature boasts crystallisations famous for their diversity: stalactites, stalagmites, eccentrics whose shapes defy the laws of gravity, fistulas, gours, calcite triangles, etc. The Grotte du Grand Roc is the only cave with concretions to be listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Don't miss the night-time tour of the cave by storm lamp in summer.
