Located a stone's throw from Rocamadour and Périgord Noir, the Gouffre de Padirac is the first underground natural heritage site in France.
You begin your exploration with a descent in the elevator or on foot, 103 meters underground, then wander through the underground galleries to the pier, where you set off for a boat trip. Suddenly, the river opens onto Rain Lake, above which appears, majestic and striking, the Grande Pendeloque, a 60 meter long stalactite.
You dock and continue your journey towards the Lac des Gours and the incredible Salle du Grand Dôme, whose vault rises 94 meters high and reveals a multitude of geological wonders shaped over millions of years by nature.
More than 25 million visitors have marveled at it since its discovery by Édouard-Alfred Martel in 1889.
