What heat !

TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS HEAT, THE SITES ARE PUT IN AIR-CONDITIONING MODE...

VISIT IN THE COOL

Especially the prehistoric caves, which remain at about 13°C all year round. This is the ideal way to stay cool while having a good time discovering the traces of prehistoric man.

The troglodytic sites also allow you to shelter under the rock, protected from the rays of the burning sun.

Also, the National Museum of Prehistory or the International Centre of Cave Art- Lascaux are places protected from the summer heat by... air conditioning!

Nestled under the bamboo trees of Planbuisson, you are also sheltered from the sun's rays.

SWIMMING

To make a small or big splash, the Jacquou Parc with its Aqualud and the Etangs du Bos have slides for young and old. The former also offers rides; as for the latter, you can go for a ride on the aerotrampoline or just relax around the lake and fish. The Tamniès lake, classified as a Blue Flag lake for the quality of its bathing water, also offers a fishing area. Please note: be aware of the opening periods!

Limeuil, a village classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, has so many attractions in the summer: its restaurant terraces, its canoeing base, but above all ITS BEACH! And yes, you can swim in the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers.

If your child knows how to swim, the canoe bases will rent you a family boat. To cool off, there is nothing to stop you from making a few forays into the Vézère.

And don't forget that the municipal swimming pools in Audrix and Le Bugue are open in July and August!

THE IMPORTANCE OF QUENCHING YOUR THIRST

Furthermore, why not just relax on the terrace to get a good tan...

If you are leaving the Pôle d'Interprétation de la Préhistoire or the Abri Pataud in Les Eyzies, don't hesitate to stop at Nosco, a wine bar. A glass of chilled rosé with creamy Périgord trout will delight your taste buds.

HIDDEN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

Near the Puento Viesgo square, a waterfall is hidden from the view of the unsuspecting in the village of Les Eyzies. Near this well-kept secret, the freshness is appreciable under the poplars.

A little further down the Vézère Valley, walk in the shade of the redwoods and cedars in the forest of Campagne and take refuge under the man made caves in the image of prehistoric men.

To admire the beautiful Vézère, a cool pause is recommended in one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France: Saint-Léon sur Vézère
