Where can I picnic in Vézère valley?

Discover parks, gardens and charming corners to offer an ideal setting for a successful picnic.

A must-see spot for tourists : Limeuil beach is one of the favorite places for picnickers. Sitting at the edge of the pebble beach or on tables set up for, at the confluence of the Vézère and the Dordogne, one can admire the junction of the two rivers or admire the beautiful residences that are legions in this small village clinging to its rocky spur.

In Audrix: next to the church and under the hall, tables welcome you.

At Campagne: the castle with its green spaces and its raised park will offer you an enchanting environment to restore you. Romantic, rustic, architecturally and emotionally, one discovers the richness of this arboretum: redwoods, cedars, magnolias, bald cypresses, plane trees ... The shade of these remarkable trees offers an idyllic setting for a lunch on the grass.

At Le Bugue: it is still on the banks of the river where tables (under the medical group) have been installed. You can enjoy the quiet Vézère and the shade of its weeping willows during a meal and can being a little nap. A large table near the old mill allows you to be 8/10 persons. On the bank, towards the kiosk, near the Bournat, one can also sit down.

In Mauzens and Miremont, under the viaduct, some tables await you on the roadside for a small stop between the Cave of Rouffignac and the Castle Park of Campagne for example.

Les Eyzies: next to the park of the town hall, the edge of the Vézère is ideal to picnic with family. Plenty of tables that allow to be seated during a meal, to see the canoes along the river and give its remains to the ducks. In Tayac, under the chestnut tree, you will be very quiet to admire the church Saint Martin. Only one table!

In Tursac: After crossing the village, follow the direction of the site La Madeleine, just after crossing the bridge, stop at the small nautical stop and there enjoy! The freshness of the river, the lapping of the river, water, shade of trees, paradise in short!

At Sergeac: turn left when you arrive, there is the table. Enjoy your meal, then discover this quiet village with typical houses with roofs of lauzes. You can also walk to the prehistoric site of Castel Merle.

In Saint Léon, the edge of the river is a wonderful setting for a picnic. At the foot of the romantic church, in front of the cliffs, one can eat on tables and then dip after a lunch on the grass. Saint Léon is a perfect place to dream and walk. You can stroll through these lanes to houses with harmonious architecture in this village classified among the most beautiful villages in France.

At Saint Amand de Coly, the abbey church between heaven and earth watches over the village for so many centuries ... the ocher of the Sarladaise stone and the gray of the lauzes highlight the purity of the Romanesque architecture of the church. Tables were installed on the left in the parking lot.

At Thonac, at Fongran lake, silence is rigorous beside the fishermen who watch for roach, carp, tench or trout ... but calm assured. A large table awaits you.

In Montignac, along the banks of the Vézère, near the canoes base, the picnic in the shade of the trees is a feast on these quays. For digestion? A visit to the city where one can admire the richness of its architectural heritage: the half-timbered houses of the 13th century, the terraced houses on stilts that are classified Historical Monuments.
At the Park "de la Fontaine aux pères" (just before the new Lascaux - International Center of Parietal Art) and next to the nautical stop of Montignac (near the tennis court), there is enough to sit and set up its cutlery.

At La Chapelle Aubareil, 2 tables are set up in front of the town hall.

In Rouffignac, behind the townhall, in the shade of a tree, a table allows you to taste the local products bought at the market for example. Place Simone Veil, in front of the Town Hall small steel tables for a meal in love await you while in the park of La Falquette wooden tables are provided well in the shade.

In Peyzac le Moustier, 2 tables are placed near the hall.

In Plazac, next to the hall of the festivals one can settle and then enjoy a very nice frame around the church and its medieval garden.
